Close & Next Steps

A scoping session that ends with enthusiasm but no concrete next step is a session you'll have to redo in a month. End with a plan on the calendar instead.

What to Confirm Before Anyone Leaves

Confirm This Exists
A tier recommendationCrawl, Walk, or Run, with the discovery reasoning behind it — see Engagement Tiers
A deliverableThe completed deliverable template: surface, content source, integrations, timeline, owners
Client-side ownersNamed technical and content contacts, confirmed in the room
A kickoff dateAn actual date on the calendar, not "we'll follow up"

If any of these is missing when the session ends, that's the gap to close before the room disperses.

Next Steps by Tier

  • Crawl: Kick off content ingestion immediately — auto-create agent from the client's URL is often same-week work. Fast time-to-value is the entire point of this tier; don't let it slip.
  • Walk: Confirm which OOTB integrations and forms are in scope, and get connector/CMS access arranged before the next session.
  • Run: Schedule a dedicated technical scoping call with the client's engineering or IT contact — integration credentials and system access typically can't be resolved in the same session as the initial pitch.
