The GEO/AEO Lab
A monthly, hands-on workshop that turns "AI visibility is interesting" into "we know what to improve and how to measure progress."
Most GEO/AEO education stops at theory: here's what generative engines are, here's why citations matter, good luck. The GEO/AEO Lab is different — it's a working session built entirely around the ai12z GEO Suite, where attendees leave having actually measured a real brand's AI discoverability, identified its highest-value gaps, and written a 30-day roadmap to close them.
This guide is the facilitator's version of that workshop, expanded well past the original slide deck. Thirteen of the 14 pages in this section correspond to one slide each from The GEO/AEO Lab deck — but where the deck gives you a headline and three bullets, this guide gives you the full talk track, the real report data to demonstrate with, the exact GEO Suite screens to pull up, and the follow-up questions attendees actually ask. The 14th page, The Live Signal Reports, was added after launch to cover two GEO Suite reports that didn't exist when the original deck was built.
Who This Is For
- ai12z customers running their own internal GEO/AEO enablement session for marketing, content, or SEO teams
- Agency partners packaging a GEO/AEO baseline assessment as a client-facing service (see How Agencies Can Turn the Lab Into a Service)
- Anyone facilitating a live or recorded session who needs more depth than a slide deck provides — this guide assumes you'll have the ai12z GEO portal open and live during the session
No prior GEO/AEO experience is assumed. The workshop is designed to work whether attendees have never heard of Generative Engine Optimization or have already read the GEO Suite Overview cover to cover.
Format at a Glance
| Cadence | Monthly |
| Length | 90 minutes (live) — see 90-Minute Workshop Agenda |
| Format | Hands-on working session, not a lecture — attendees build a real baseline during the session |
| Prerequisite | Access to an ai12z GEO portal (trial or paid) with at least one bot/project connected |
| Output | A citation baseline, a first Citation List and/or Keyword List, a list of content/schema/trust gaps, and a prioritized action list with a scheduled re-test date |
The workshop's operating model, in one line: Measure → Improve → Prove. Every module in this guide maps back to one of those three verbs — see The Workshop Promise for how that framework structures the whole session.
What Makes This Credible (Not Just Another Webinar)
The Lab isn't built on hypothetical best practices. Every exercise runs against the same GEO Suite reports documented in the GEO Suite section of these docs, and every example in this guide is drawn from real report output — the same ai12z.com data referenced throughout the GEO Suite reference pages. When this guide says "a real Citation Monitor run showed Ada beating ai12z with 19% share of voice on three uncited category queries," that's not a hypothetical — it's the literal example used in Citation Monitor, and it's exactly the kind of finding attendees will see about their own brand during the live exercise.
That's the core credibility claim of the Lab, expanded in The ai12z 360° Feedback Loop: unlike a standalone GEO audit tool that hands you a static PDF, ai12z owns the chatbot layer your visitors actually talk to — so the Lab can show attendees a closed loop, from a citation, to a visit, to a real conversation, to a fix, to a re-test, in one sitting.
